Grenade event in Jammu and Kashmir, Baramulla area, India on Wed 24th December 2025
24th December 2025
On December 24, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a cache of explosives and ammunition during a search operation in a forest area of Baramulla District in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, SFs launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in the Shalebuth Forest area of Kreeri. During the operation, SFs detected a hideout concealed beneath a tree and recovered four Chinese grenades, 19 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) rounds and 46 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Officials said the recovered material is suspected to have been stashed by Terrorists (Ters) operating in north Kashmir for future attacks. No arrests were made during the operation. SFs have intensified area domination and further searches in adjoining forest belts to trace those responsible and to rule out the presence of additional hideouts.
