On December 24, a Hindu man identified as Amrit Mondal, also known as Samrat, was beaten to death by a mob in Hosendanga Village of Kalimohor Union in Pangsha Upazila (Sub-District) of Rajbari District over an extortion suspicion, reports The Daily Star. Incident took place around 11:00 pm. During the incident, Police arrested one of Mondal’s associates, Mohammad Selim, and later recovered a pistol and one-shooter gun from him.
