Security Forces (SFs) comprising of Gariyaband E-30-unit, Special Task Force (STF), CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) Battalion, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), uncovered a large cache of explosives and weapons from a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) hideout located in the remote Dadipani Hilly area under Menapur Police Station limits in the Gariyaband District of Chhattisgarh on December 22, reports Prameyanews. Acting on information that Naxalites from the Maoist DGN (district/divisional Guerrilla Network) Division had stored a dangerous arsenal for attacks on SFs in the remote Dadipani Hilly area near the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border, the SFs launched a search operation and recovered items including a company-made mortar, 22 mortar shells, 150 detonators, 18 arrow bombs, and various materials used to make Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). These deadly weapons were hidden in plastic drums and steel containers, concealed among rocks.
