On December 18, two overground workers of Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) were arrested by Meghalaya Police in connection with an Improvised explosive device (IED) explosion that took place on December 15, at the Dhar Company premises in Shymplong under Elaka Narpuh in East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya, reports The Shillong Times. Police sources said the arrested individuals confessed to planting the device. No casualties were reported during the explosion.
