On December 18, a journalist, Emdadul Haque Milon (45), was shot dead, and another man, identified as Debashish Biswas, 30, a local veterinary doctor, was critically injured when armed assailants opened fire at a tea stall in Sholua Bazar area under Aranghata in Khulna District, reports New Age. Witnesses said that four assailants arrived at the tea stall on two motorcycles and fired several blank shots, causing panic among people in the area. Police added that efforts were underway to identify and arrest those responsible.
