On December 18,Arakan Army (AA) abducted nine Bangladeshi fishermen and seized two boats from the Naf River estuary near Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar District, reports Observer. The incident took place as the fishermen were returning after fishing near the Naikhyangdia estuary off Shah Porir Dwip, said Abdul Gafur, president of the Shah Porir Dwip West Para boat jetty. According to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), at least 350 Bangladeshi fishermen have been abducted by the Arakan Army from the Naf River and adjacent border areas over the past 10 months.
