SAA event in Punjab, Amritsar area, India on Wed 17th December 2025

On December 17,Police arrested four persons from different locations in the Amritsar District of Punjab, and recovered heroin and illegal firearms, reports The Tribune. The accused were intercepted in a Swift Dzire car. Those arrested included Narinder Singh, alias Nindi, and Jaskaran Singh, both from Dhulka village in Amritsar District, and Harjinder Singh from Muchhal village in Amritsar. Police recovered a .30 bore pistol with a magazine and four live cartridges from Narinder Singh, and a .32 bore country-made pistol with a magazine and three cartridges from Jaskaran Singh. A further .32 bore country-made pistol with a magazine and 40.63 grams of heroin was recovered based on Jaskaran Singh’s disclosure. The contraband and weapons were reportedly supplied by Aasu of Guru Nanakpura, Beas (currently in Portugal), in connivance with Akashdeep Singh, alias Akash, also from Guru Nanakpura, Beas tehsil (revenue unit) of Amritsar, who has been arrested.
