On December 16, Unidentified assailants shot dead a kabaddi team promoter at a tournament in Sector 82, Mohali, Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar in Punjab, reports The Tribune. Kanwar Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balchauriya (30), a kabaddi player and promoter of the Shakkarpur kabaddi team, was shot at point-blank range in the head and declared dead at a private hospital. According to Police, two youths approached Singh on the pretext of taking a selfie, led him towards the parking area and fired four rounds before fleeing. Subsequently, the Gopi Ghanshyampuria gang claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post, alleging Singh’s links with rival gangs and his role in aiding the shooters involved in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.
