Following the intense day of violence that shook the municipality of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, on the morning of Wednesday, December 17, authorities have released a preliminary report: three people dead and two vehicles reduced to ashes on the outskirts of the municipal seat.

The situation triggered an immediate deployment of the State Police, the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), and the National Guard to attempt to regain control of the area.

The epicenter of the conflict was located on 7 de Abril Street, in the El Roblito neighborhood. At this location, security forces found two burned-out vehicles. Details gathered at the scene describe a scenario of extreme violence:

A pickup truck had multiple bullet holes before being set on fire. Inside the vehicle, human remains were confirmed. Although initially only one body was seen, unofficial reports indicate that there could be up to three victims who lost their lives inside the vehicle.
