The thin line separating security institutions from organized crime has been fractured once again following a shocking event. On the night of December 26, in the Riberas de Sacramento neighborhood of Chihuahua, what appeared to be a typical drug-related execution revealed an institutional connection: the perpetrators were members of the National Guard.

The victim, identified as Adrián M., lost his life in a direct and lethal attack. The reconstruction of the events, based on forensic evidence, has ruled out scenarios of self-defense, assault, or a fight; it was a planned attack carried out with firearms.

Thanks to the swift intervention of local authorities, supported by witness testimonies and the review of surveillance camera footage, two individuals linked to the federal agency were apprehended in the act:

An active member of the National Guard.

A former member recently discharged from the same institution.

Both individuals were captured shortly after the crime and turned over to judicial authorities, who deemed the arrests legal.
