According to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU) headquarters, military forces attacked villages in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, using jet aircraft, helicopters, and heavy artillery. The attacks killed one monk and three civilians, and caused extensive damage to a monastery and several homes.
On December 11, junta forces carried out an airstrike on Lein Pin village using one fighter jet, dropping a 500-pound bomb that exploded inside the village. The blast killed a 46-year-old man named Saw Phah Haw, destroyed three houses, two power tillers, and a general goods shop worth about 600,000 kyats, and killed six cattle.
