Locals reported that the Myanmar military carried out two airstrikes this morning on Banmauk, a town in northern Sagaing Region where intense fighting is taking place, dropping bombs that hit the town’s central market and nearby buildings, causing fires and destruction.

The attacks began around 5 a.m. as joint forces of the Shan Nationalities Army (SNA) and allied resistance groups launched an offensive from the west side of Banmauk. Amid heavy clashes, junta aircraft dropped bombs on the town.
