On 24 July 2025, Cambodian forces launched attacks on residential areas in Phanom Dong Rak village, Bak Dai, Phanom Dong Rak (Surin), damaging Phanom Dong Rak Chalerm Phrakiat Hospital. The shelling severely impacted the hospital's structure. One civilian was killed, a 5-year-old child was seriously injured along with two other family members, and seven Thai soldiers were also reported wounded. Thai authorities condemned the strike as a potential war crime under international law.
