On 25 July 2025, the Cambodian military fired artillery shells to Cho Rok village, Dan, Kap Choeng (Surin), killing two and injuring two Thai people. Royal Thai Army insisted that Cambodia fired first around 4:30 am and Thai military forces deployed combat weapons, including the 155mm Autonomous Truck-Mounted Gun (ATMG), a Thai-made artillery system noted for its effectiveness. The ATMG was used to fire on the Cambodian BM-21 launcher, targeting a Cambodian military base in Chom Krasarn District (separately coded).
