Around 20 November 2025 (as reported), in El Cambur (Aragua), the Criminal Investigation Service (SIP) of the Aragua Police clashed with and killed the lieutenant and right-hand man of the leader of El Marihuano gang in the Betania neighborhood, 5th Street of Rosario de Paya, Pedro Arevalo Aponte parish. The officers were surprised by several armed individuals. Upon noticing police presence and after the police ordered them to stop, one of them opened fire. The gang members sought refuge in a ranch, where they continued shooting at the police. The gang lieutenant was hurt and taken to the hospital, where he died. He was involved in extortion, kidnappings and killings. 1 fatality.
