On 20 November 2025, in the municipality of Balfate, Colon, unidentified armed men shot and killed three young people who were traveling in a vehicle along an unlit road in the aldea El Carbon. According to police, the attackers intercepted the victims using several cars and motorcycles before opening fire with shotguns. The vehicle was later found on the roadside with multiple bullet impacts and its headlights still on. Investigators' main hypothesis suggests the attack was likely related to a score-settling. No arrests have been reported. 3 fatalities.
