On 19 November 2025, Al Shabaab detonated an explosive targeting police officers from the Border Patrol Unit traveling between Liboi and Kulan (coded to the nearest known location as Kulan, Dadaab, Garissa). 2 officers were killed, 5 others sustained injuries, and the vehicle was damaged. Al Shabaab claimed to have killed 9 officers, while 3 others sustained injuries during the incident.
