On 19 November 2025, overnight, a Malian army vehicle struck an IED planted by JNIM militants in Sabokat, between Aguelhok and Kidal, coded to Tamejjelalt (Essouk, Kidal, Kidal) a midpoint between the two locations. 7 soldiers were killed. JNIM claimed to have targeted a vehicle of the Malian army and Africa Corps with an IED, between Aguelhok and Kidal.
