On 18 November 2025, greyhound police personnel along with local police killed six CPI (Maoists) including head of PLGA Battalion 1, members of Maoist Dandakaranya Committee (DKSZC), platform party committee member (PPCM) in an operation in the forested area in Maredumilli village (East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh) and seized firearms including two AK-47, one pistol, one revolver, one single bore gun, 1525 electrical detonators, 150 non-electrical detonators, one electrical wire bundle, one camera flash light, 25 meters fuse wire and seven kit bags. Members of CPI (Maoist) claim that it was a fake encounter and their associates had been captured unarmed and then killed.
