On 17 November 2025, in Las Juntas (Chaparral, Tolima), unidentified armed individuals shot and killed a social leader and political activist as he was heading home. The victim worked as a contractor for the municipal administration and had been a council candidate for the Historic Pact (PH) in the 2023 local elections. There is no further information on the motive or perpetrators of the attack. The area is known for the presence of the Ismael Ruiz FARC dissident front and local gangs. 1 fatality.
