SAA event in Penal-Debe, Penal area, Trinidad and Tobago on Mon 17th November 2025

Around 17 November 2025 (between 16 - 17 November), in Penal, Penal-Debe, unidentified armed individuals shot and killed a man and a woman at their home, located along Penal Rock Road. According to a witness, an armed man broke down the front door with a sledgehammer and entered. The attackers asked the victims for money but killed them in front of their daughter before receiving the sum. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later found by the police. They had tried to set it on fire. Preliminary versions assessed robbery as the motivation. However, the attack was later described as suspectedly connected to a conflict over logging rights attributed to the victims, who worked in forestry. 2 fatalities.
