On 17 November 2025, near Laguna Larga De Cortez, Guanajuato, members of the CJNG shot at municipal police officers who attempted to prevent the CJNG from setting fire to a vehicle on the Penjamo-La Piedad highway. The event was part of a series of roadblock in Michoacan and Guanajuato states, that followed an operation against the leader of the CJNG. Casualties unknown.
