On 17 November 2025, in Guayaquil - Ximena (Guayas), two unidentified armed individuals on a motorbike (described as hitmen) shot and killed a woman driving a vehicle in a drive-by shooting on Francisco de Orellana Avenue, near the Mucho Lote 1 and Villa Espana housing developments. The homicide was described as a contract killing. The victim had five legal proceedings, had been imprisoned at the Littoral Penitentiary, and some of her criminal records were related to drug trafficking, robbery, and organised crime. She was a member of the Latin Kings gang. 1 fatality.
