On 16 November 2025, in Cancun, Quintana Roo, two unknown armed individuals shot and killed an off-duty Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE) in the hotel area hours after the arrest of a member of the CJNG. The FGE officer was part of the investigative unit focused on drug trafficking-related crimes. Six men and a boy who belonged to a gang dedicated to drug trafficking were arrested. 1 fatality.
