On 16 November 2025, JNIM militants attacked an advanced position of the Burkinabe army and the volunteer fighters (VDP) in the village of Natiaboani (Fada Ngourma, Gourma, Est). JNIM claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it seized 1 RPG and 1 G3 rifle. JNIM published photographs of the seizure. Casualties unknown.
