On 16 November 2025, the Burkinabe air force and special forces from the Rapid Intervention Battalion 11 (BIR 11), conducted a military operation that included airstrikes and ground operations against a militant base (likely JNIM, based on location) in the village of Kiougou-Kandaga (Komin-Yanga, Koulpelogo, Centre-Est). 14 militants were killed, 1 was captured, and various equipment was seized, including AK rifles, magazines, RPGs, rockets, motorcycles, cell phones, books, and bedding. Additionally, several rolling stocks were destroyed.
