SAA event in Santa Barbara, La Cuesta area, Honduras on Sun 16th November 2025

On 16 November 2025, in La Cuesta, Santa Barbara, unidentified armed men opened fire on a caravan of vehicles returning from a political event organized by the Liberty and Refoundation Party (LIBRE). The attack killed a young boy and injured a girl. Witnesses reported that the attackers fired at the vehicles as they left the area, shouting political slogans like 'Out with the big family'. The victims were transported to a medical center, where the boy was declared dead. Police arrested the perpetrator, a local farmworker, and two men suspected of participating in the attack. The attack is suspected to be linked to political violence. 1 fatality. 1 injured. 3 arrested.
