On 8 May 2019, regime forces shelled Khan Shaykun in Idleb in conjunction with 16 airstrikes carried out by warplanes and 12 Barrel bombs dropped by regime helicopters. Regime warplanes carried out airstrikes on the northern outskirts of Khan Shaykun using heavy machine guns. 2 citizens were killed as a result of the shelling, 2 as a result of the airstrikes, and 1 citizen was killed as result of the airstrikes on the northern outskirts of the town using heavy machine guns. Shelling and airstrikes also resulted in the wounding of twenty six people, including ten children and six women. Conflicting reports says 3 fatalities. Total number of fatalities coded to 3.
