On December 3, Arakan Army abducted two fishermen, identified as M Selim, 50, son of Abul Kashem of Hoaikyang’s Ward-2 North Para, and M Riaz Uddin, 18, son of Oli Hossain of Unchiprang’s Ward-3 Hoaikyang, from the Naf River near the Jhimongkhali area in Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar District of Chittagong Division, reports jagonews24.com. UP member Sirajul Mostafa Lalu said an armed group emerged in the morning fog and detained the two fishermen while they were casting nets, as the others fled.
