28th November 2025
The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, operating in the territory of Djugu, in the province of Ituri, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, discovered around ten weapons in the town of Mambanga on Friday 28 November.
According to the Congolese army, these weapons, including six AK-47s, eight RPGs and 15 loaded magazines, were recovered by the FARDC on 27 November 2025 and belonged to militiamen from the Convention for Popular Revolution (CRP) led by Thomas Lubanga, allies of the M23-AFC.
The spokesperson for the Congolese army in the Ituri operational sector described this as the result of intense military operations carried out in the Djugu territory against elements of the CRP, who had carried out several attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of the DRC.
According to Lieutenant Jules Ngongo Tshikudi, he welcomes the collaboration of the population, which has led to the discovery of several weapons caches and the recovery of a large quantity of ammunition belonging to armed groups opposed to the peace process.
