According to reports from local sources, the military council carried out both air and ground attacks on Nyaung Pin Thar Village in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, using a gyrocopter for aerial bombing as well as heavy artillery fire. The assault resulted in the deaths of four civilians and left many others injured.

Around noon on December 3, two bombs were dropped from a military gyrocopter on the village, followed by shelling from Infantry Battalion 73 based in Zar Yet Gyi, which caused further civilian casualties.
