One killed, one loses leg in two landmine blasts in Maungdaw Township 

According to local residents, the individual who lost his right leg is U Abu La Chain, aged 55, from the village of Ngan Chaung North in Maungdaw Township. He was herding buffaloes when he accidentally stepped on a mine at 4:00 pm on November 17.

The explosion is said to have resulted in the amputation of his right leg below the knee and serious injury to his left leg.
