On 22 May 2019, regime warplanes carried out airstrikes on Jisr-Ash-Shugur in western Idleb countryside, targeting civilian houses, a school and a main road, which killed 2 civilians and injured 9 others including 2 members of the Syrian Civil Defence while responding to victims of the first airstrike, which had targeted a school. Both volunteers received medical attention for their injuries.
