Grenade event in Sweden on Fri 28th November 2025

Stockholm police have lifted a cordon erected in a part of Östermalm, after a suspected hand grenade reported by the public was declared "not dangerous". Police cordoned off an area around a "dangerous object" which had been reported by a passer by, but at shortly before 3pm, they lifted the cordon after examining the object and finding it posed no threat. Photos published by the Aftonbladet newspaper showed an object that closely resembled a hand grenade."It was just lying in the road, just where there's a loading area. Someone must have left it there intentionally," a witness, who called himself Tommy, told the newspaper. Police called in the national bomb squad, who examined the object and found that it contained no explosive charge.
