On November 3, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) of Mexico, through its Specialized Regional Control Prosecutor's Office (FECOR), announced the indictment of five individuals for their involvement in the illegal possession of firearms restricted to the Armed Forces, as well as the possession of ammunition and magazines.

According to reports, the arrests were made possible by a coordinated operation with the National Guard (GN), who apprehended the defendants at a hotel on the Rayón-Tapilula highway, in the municipality of Pichucalco, Chiapas. The detainees, identified as Juan “C”, Adolfo “V”, Junior “H”, Hernán “A”, and Luis “P”, attempted to evade justice but were intercepted by security forces.

During the operation, significant evidence of the crimes was seized: a total of 11 long guns, 46 magazines, 821 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, tactical gear, 220 tire spikes, and two vehicles. These materials are considered highly dangerous, as their possession is restricted by law.

This action is part of the Mexican government's efforts to combat organized crime and guarantee security in the regions of the country most affected by drug trafficking. The judge ordered the detainees held in pretrial detention while the corresponding investigations are carried out.
