On 23 May 2019, regime and Russian warplanes carried out airstrikes on civilian houses the town of Khan Shaykun in Idleb and fields near the town, while regime helicopters dropped barrel bombs, which killed 3 civilians and injured others. One of the raids was near Abdul Majid Haj Bakri Primary School, partially damaging its building and furniture.
