State authorities arrested one of the individuals responsible for the armed attack against municipal police officers in Gómez Palacio on October 6th, in the state of Durango.
The man, identified as 52-year-old Jorge Amaury, originally from Escobedo, Nuevo León, was apprehended by authorities while driving a stolen vehicle in the state capital.
Upon checking his record, officers discovered that he had an outstanding arrest warrant for attempted homicide, treason against a public servant, and criminal association.
This man is apparently one of the assailants identified in a video showing a white vehicle traveling on Ejército Nacional Boulevard when two occupants got out and opened fire on the municipal officers with a long gun.
The State Attorney General's Office will determine his legal status in connection with these events.
