A man was arrested by Monterrey Police officers after allegedly being found in possession of a firearm and a magazine with 12 live rounds in the Sarabia neighborhood.

The man was identified as José Amparo Z., 49, and his arrest occurred at the intersection of Colegio Civil and Colón streets.

According to the police report, officers were patrolling the area when they observed two men arguing. When approached, one of them, who turned out to be the now-detained man, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.

During a search, officers found a .380 caliber firearm tucked into his waistband, along with a magazine containing 12 live rounds, leading to his arrest.

The detainee was transferred to the Monterrey Police facilities, where he was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities.
