A man was seriously injured after being attacked at night in the east in the Lomas de la Fama colony, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, while he was walking along one of the main streets of the sector.

The attack occurred around 10:30 pm at the crossroads of Loma Linda and Loma Bonita. Vecinos signaled that armed subjects aboard a vehicle approached the victim and opened fire on at least three occasions before leaving the place.

The injured man, a man of approximately 28 years old, was lying on the public road after receiving the impact of a firearm. Elements of Civil Protection Jaguars responded to provide him with urgent care, stabilize him and transfer him to a hospital in Monterrey, where he remains at a low level of medical care.

In the area, the authorities found three hammered shells corresponding to a sharp weapon, which were secured by expert personnel to integrate them into the investigation.

Elements of the National Guard, municipal police and ministerial agents arrived at the site to implement a security perimeter and carry out the first investigations, while continuing inquiries to identify the attackers and establish the motive for the attack.
