An intense day of violence unfolded this Monday, November 17, in western Michoacán, following a security operation aimed at capturing Ángel, alias "El Camaleón," a high-priority target and criminal leader allied with the CJNG cartel.

The authorities' actions triggered an immediate response from armed groups, who set up numerous roadblocks and vehicles on fire in at least seven municipalities, including Zamora, Ecuandureo, Ixtlán, La Piedad, Zacapu, Tangamandapio, and Numarán.
