Four members of the Mexican Navy (SEMAR) were wounded, two of them seriously, after being ambushed on the afternoon of Thursday, November 13. The attack occurred in the community of El Camarón, in the mountainous region of the municipality of Escuinapa, Sinaloa. According to unofficial information obtained at the scene, the marines were conducting an operational patrol when they were intercepted by an armed group that opened fire from multiple locations. The attack took the federal agents by surprise, but they managed to repel the aggression while urgently requesting reinforcements. Following the report, an intense mobilization of personnel from the Navy and municipal police forces was activated in the area. The most notable aspect was the deployment of two Navy helicopters for the air evacuation of the two marines with the most serious injuries. These marines were transported to the port of Mazatlán for emergency medical treatment. The other two victims sustained minor injuries but were also taken to a hospital under military guard. As of now, federal and state authorities have not issued an official statement; however, confirmation of the events and the condition of the injured is expected in the coming hours. The El Camarón area and its surroundings remain under a permanent search operation for the attackers and the collection of ballistic evidence related to the confrontation.
