A new raid of improvised aerial technology was thwarted this weekend in Villa Juárez, belonging to Navolato, Sinaloa, after Mexican Army personnel detected and neutralized two drones used to throw bombs at the Elements.
Villa Juárez is an agricultural area historically marked by territorial disputes between criminal groups in Sinaloa.
Military commands reported that the discovery occurred during a surveillance patrol, when locating the artifacts flying over at low altitude, the officers used specialized equipment to interfere with the remote control signal, making both devices descend without causing damage.
Although the type of cargo carried by the drones was not revealed, sources consulted confirmed that they were aircraft with bombs that operate on routes known for their strategic relevance in the conflict held by the factions of "Los Chapitos" and "Los Mayos" in the state.
This assurance is added to a series of similar events that confirm the adoption of technological warfare by criminal structures in Sinaloa, recently, the military located ten improvised explosive devices (ID) designed to be released from drones, a tactic that has intensified in various areas:
- North of Culiacán: From Imala to Tepuche.
- Badiraguato (Serrana Zone): Including Huixiopa, La Tuna and San José del Llano
- South of the State: Municipalities such as Rosario and Concordia, considered corridors of high conflict and with little institutional presence, have also reported attacks and drone overflights for offensive purposes.
The neutralized drones were made available to the competent authorities for forensic analysis and to reinforce the lines of investigation on the use of this technology by organized crime.
