SAA event in Punjab, Amritsar District area, India on Wed 19th November 2025
19th November 2025
On November 20, a gangster identified as Harjinder Singh alias ‘Harry’, suspected of maintaining links with foreign-based syndicates and Pakistan-backed anti-national elements, was shot dead in an encounter with police in Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The Tribune. Police recovered two Pakistan-smuggled pistols—a 9mm Glock and a .30-bore pistol—along with a bike and a mobile phone from the spot. Harjit Singh’s associate, Sunny of Attari, escaped under the cover of darkness. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that Harry had recently been released on bail. Acting on a specific intelligence input that the duo was planning a targeted killing, an anti-gangster team intercepted them late at night on November 19. Bhullar added that raids are ongoing to arrest the absconding accomplice.
