SAA event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mamanrry dam, Khyber District area, Pakistan on Wed 12th November 2025

Unidentified gunmen abducted an engineer and two dam workers from the Mamanrry dam area in Bara tehsil (revenue unit) of Khyber District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of November 12, reports Dawn. The engineer had been hired by a private firm to conduct a survey. No group had claimed responsibility for the abduction so far.|In his first cabinet meeting on November 13, the new Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, announced the withdrawal of ‘Action in Aid of Civil Power Act’, reports The Khorasan Diary. This law grants legal protection to Security Forces (SFs) during operations in the province, deeming it against human rights, Shafi Jan, Special Assistant to the CM for Information and Public Relations, said in a post-cabinet meeting press conference.
