A local man told Shwe Phi Myay that three displaced people were killed when the military council and the Pa-O militia PNO opened fire on the western side of Phekhon town on the Shan-Karen border.

Around 10 a.m. yesterday, November 22, three displaced women near Bawran village, on the western side of Phaikhun town, were reportedly hit by heavy weapons fire from the military council and the PNO as they were returning from hillside fields.

"I'm going to the rice fields. The PNO side is the first to go. He was killed by a drone attack with heavy weapons. He died on the spot," he said.

The deceased were a 17-year-old woman, a 46-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman.

He added that in October, troops from the military council and the PNO advanced into villages on the western side of Phaikhun and not only arrested and killed residents, but also burned and destroyed houses.
