On 1 February 2021, an IED targeted the head of Al Mualla security's car injuring him along with a civilian in Al Mualla's main road (Al Mualla, Aden). It is unclear who planted the IED. The explosion injured the head of Al Mualla security and a child, but it did not cause fatalities.
