On 18 April 2021, unknown militants injured 3 or 4 Iraqi military engineers in a double-tap bombing between Mosul Dam and Al Qayyarah village in Ninewa province. The militants first detonated an explosive targeting a power transmission line. The militants detonated the second explosive when army engineers responded to the first explosion and attempted to repair the damaged tower.
