On 22 April 2021, IS militants conducted a double-tap roadside explosive attack targeting a civilian vehicle on the Jayzani intersection on the Jayzani road, Abu Saida, Diyala province. The first blast targeted a civilian vehicle. The second vehicle targeted a police vehicle arriving at the scene. The attack killed 2 policeman, 1 civilian, and injured 4 civilians.
