On 20 April 2021, an IED, planted by an unidentified armed group, exploded near Al-Omar Oil Field in the countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, targeting a Coalition Forces military convoy that was passing through the area. The explosion damaged a QSD military vehicle that was escorting the convoy. Neither injuries nor fatalities were reported.
