On 13 April 2021, in Monywa town, Monywa township (Monywa District, Sagaing Region), two bombs exploded near a checkpoint where military and police forces were stationed, injuring at least one policeman. It was reported that a total of 10 explosions occured around the town, including one near Monywa University. No party has claimed responsibility for the incidents.
